Elon Musk Renames Twitter to “X” and Replaces Blue Bird Symbol

    Published on:

The Twitter bird has taken its final flight as the platform undergoes a major rebranding. Elon Musk, the driving force behind the change, announced the arrival of the new X logo over the weekend, swiftly replacing the iconic bird symbol throughout the platform, including the loading icon.

Interestingly, Musk revealed that typing X.com now redirects users to the new Twitter experience, even though the primary domain remains Twitter.com. The new logo was crowdsourced by Musk and was contributed by a Twitter user named Sawyer Merritt. This X logo has also found its place alongside the names of the company’s employees, including CEO Linda Yaccarino.

Yaccarino shed light on the future direction of the platform, hinting at a broader vision beyond micro-blogging. She emphasized that X represents the future of unlimited interactivity, encompassing audio, video, messaging, payments, and banking. The aim is to create a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities, all facilitated by AI-powered connectivity.

In Yaccarino’s words, Twitter’s transformation into X is an opportunity to make an even bigger impression and change the way we communicate on a global scale. The platform is set to evolve into a powerful space that fosters meaningful connections and transforms the way we engage with ideas and conversations, taking the concept of a “global town square” to new heights. As X takes flight, the possibilities for interaction and collaboration seem boundless, promising a new era of communication and community-building on the digital frontier.
